“Fatherhood” was a role for which I had no manual, rehearsal or blueprint. Much of what I knew was a compilation of observations, experiences, and my imagination. I dreamed of what kind of father I would be, and made internal self-declarations about what kind of father I would not be. Today, we celebrate fatherhood of all kinds and variations. But here’s to my brothers who like me have been learning on the job, learning from our children, and humbly trying to lead them into the future prepared to conquer whatever may come – driven by purpose, love and good will. Happy Fathers Day.
