This week I came across a beautiful picture of Nia Long on the cover of a prior Essence magazine with her two sons. Caption said, “Single, Satisfied, and Raising Her Boys.” Then I came across another article by an author who opined that such articles were actually glamorizing single motherhood. So…obviously there are different schools of thought on this – Have we arrived at a point in our society where “fatherhood” is obsolete – a thing of the past? 20 years from now, will people be saying, “back in the old days…there used to be…”dads”…”? Friends, What do you think??? Are “fatherhood” and a woman’s independance neccessarily at odds with each other?
