Is it more difficult to learn – or is it even possible to learn – when we see everything through the lens of our strongest held beliefs – and no other way? Then what’s passed on to those who learn from us? Do we weaken our credibility if we are seen as zealots, maintaining a defensive posture, with tunnel vision? What is the lens through which you view all things, hear all things, perceive all things, and interact with other people? Is it race? Gender? Feminism? Christianity? Islam? The Constitution? States rights? Is your first instinct to defend and/or attack? Or is it to listen, and learn – to be formless, yet powerful – like water….
