About The Author

A Single Mother’s Guide is a product of my personal experiences being raised by a single mother from the age of eleven and professional experiences in various arenas. As a Deputy Attorney General in the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, I fought for the rights of children who were the victims of physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect in the state’s most troubled communities. I have also had valuable experiences in corporate America, as a college professor, and as a college athlete. A husband, and father of a son and a daughter, I also mentor elementary and high school students in Washington, DC.

I currently serve my community as an attorney, where I have worked tirelessly on the behalf of hundreds of families involved with the criminal justice system. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Morgan State University with a BA in Political Science and obtained his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law.  “A Single Mother’s Guide to Raising a Son” – both the book and the blog – are a product of many personal and professional experiences, and I pray that they will light the fire that saves our next generation.
